Error with download mod

I keep getting this error every time I upload a file then try to download it I keep getting downloads as a file name for the file instead of the original name with the extension. See the attached pics.

Change the download method and retry.
You still should check your browser settings.

I am using windows explorer and I have tried it with different browsers and my friend have tried it form deferent countries and we all get the same thing. Is it taking the name form the saved directory? Because the download directory is dl_mod/downloads/
and with my browser I can download everything and it\s working correct.

Try another fix:
Edit the download and do not change anything. Just edit and save it.

Please check the database table phpbb_downloads if the fields file_name and real_file are filled out.

Thanks for your replay.

fields file_name is emty and the real_file is there. Do i need to do this manual evertime I upload a file?

Please help to fix this matter.

The "description" contains the filename?
I think you've not unterstand the mod itself:

The name of a download is a free text name you can enter to discribe it.
To upload a file into this download you must use the upload form and select a file from your local computer.
Only then the mod will use this file and enter the filename in the right field.

So you must realy upload now the file into this download to save it for downloads on your server.
There's no sql statement to fix this.

Thank you for the information, I have been uploading form my pc to the server and I have been getting the same error. furthermore there is an option to upload form an external link (URL)

correct! and I can use it if I need to! For example if I have a big file like 100MB it make sense to upload it to the server then use the URL like to create the download correct? And the mod should work and create the file name correct?

Yes and no.

First you can use the acp module to create a download.
This requires an existing file in the folder (defined in the category settings) which you can join to a download.
If you do this the mod will generate all needed data.
If you select at this point "external" the entered "URL" will be used as given and will be displayed in the downloads details as link.
Otherwise the script will convert the given file for downloading from your server.
So if you will join an existing file to a download, enter the filename in the field "url" to let the mod do the rest.

On the other side you can upload a file with the upload forum in the board module from the download mod. This form only can upload a file to join this to a download.
