Help with the download mod

Thank you for your help, I want it so that only people who payed money can download these files. So I did what you told me, I created a new group, but there's one thing where it says 'copy permissions from' what do I choose? For the time being I chose 'do not copy permissions'. then after that under the download mod i granted download and view to the new group that i just created, that is after adding the members to the new group, but i still cant download the files. Please see the attached picture

DO NOT USE ANY FORUM, USER OR GROUP PERMISSIONS TO DEFINE PERMISSIONS FOR THE DOWNLOAD MOD!!!!!

I wrote now more the once that the forum, user and group permissions are not be used by the Download MOD, so only set the permissions with the permission module from the MOD itself.

ALL OTHER PERMISSION SETTINGS ON THE BOARD (FORUM, USER AND/OR GROUP PERMISSIONS) WILL NOT EFFECT ANYTHING IN THE DOWNLOAD MOD!!!

If you've set the permissions for the first Download Category, you can copy this permissions on creating/editing the next Download category.
NOT in board forums and NOT in usergroups!!!!!

And please read my posts completely. I've still posted all reasons a user may not be able to download a new file!!

OK, I understand, but if I want to create a one group that get the page to download after they pay for the files how can I do that?

Yes, you can ans should create a usergroup, but the permissions for it are only done in the named download mod module.

Ok this is what i did.
1. Created a new group
2. then created a new download category.
3. then set the permeation to view and download to the download category
4. added a download file
5. then added the user to the new group so he can start downloading.
is this correct? please see the attached pics.

Not completely correct.
Please change the permission "View" and "Download" for "All" users in the category into "Usergroups".
Otherwise all users and guests can download the file.

I did what you have told me to do see the Pic # 1
I get to download the file ok with my login see pic # 2
but if I login with my test user as normal user with the download pass group added I can't download the file. see pic # 3

Look here:

Till this point you've set all right (some points more as needed, but not wrong), but regard the settings in P#4:
The displayed Download is not "free", so the users must have at least X posts and/or Y Traffic to be able to download the file!
So check the general configuration of the mod to set the restrictions as you want or let the download be "free" or "free for reg. users".
